Fireman's Ball

Kerry and I went to the annual Pi Kappa Alpha's Fireman's Ball last night. The catering was by far the best of the three years I've been attending this event. I'm only sorry I didn't get to capture more photos of the meal - it was difficult to whip my camera out and take photos of my plate without it being awkward at the table. Anyways, below are some of the desserts I tried:
I was delighted to see that they offer creme brulee because I've never had it before. I'm not into creamy textures so I didn't enjoy it much, but I could definitely see why people do like it. I'm not sure if it's common, but this particular creme brulee had raspberries in it - and I thought it complemented the custard really well. It's sort of unfair for me to judge this dessert since I don't have any history with this type, but taking into account its popularity at the event, and all of the finished bowls, I would give it a 3.5/5 on the sawnsawn scale (sss)I found this dessert intriguing for obvious reasons! Chocolate on chocolate may sound good, but there is such thing as overkill. Again, the mousse filling was a bit too much for me, and the chocolate outside didn't snap off as easily as I thought it would. I was expecting it to be similar to those hollow chocolate easter eggs you can buy for $1.50.. you can imagine how disappointed I was. Due to its creativity, my rating is 2/5 sss.

i'm sad you had a bad creme brulee experience. they are usually delicious, but always creamy... so i don't know if you would ever like it.
