After class on Friday I met up with Har for brunch at The Harlem Underground on Queen West. I had read that this place offers up a great plate of southern cooking so was amped to check it out.
I ordered the southern fried chicken and waffles ($13.99) which came with maple syrup and gravy. I was confused at how to approach this plate because I was accustomed to The Drake's style of chick&waffs in which the chicken sits on top of the waffles already dressed; but with this plate, I wasn't sure whether to eat the two separately, or to eat them together while strategically layering the sauces (waffle, maples syrup, chicken and THEN gravy). Regardless, it was an excellent meal - not one that I would order regularly, but will definitely make it a rare indulgence (4.5/5.0 sss).

oh my gad, sandy. you have to pour it all over the chicken and waffles and then take each bite with every single thing on your plate at once!!
