I finally paid a visit to Gourmet Burger Company on Yonge and Charles. I ordered The Works Burger and even treated myself to some onion rings (which, according to BlogTO, are one of the city's best). The burger is comparable to Craft Burger and W Burger Bar -- I can't say which I like best, but I am confident that I've never had onion rings quite like those from GBC. Yum!
