Last week I went to OJA on Yonge and Bloor for some Sushi and Korean BBQ. This is another one of Adriana's recommendations so I was expecting good things -- and boyyy did it ever deliver. Rarely am I ever impressed with sushi - nothing has ever measured up to Gozen (in London) for me but this one came pretty close. We ordered the Spider Roll and a specialty roll I can't remember the name of (basically, a shrimp tempura roll topped with crispy tuna). Both were great. What I liked best about it was that I could eat each roll with multiple bites while the rest remained intact on my chop stick (this is my indicator of a good sushi roll) - the seaweed was just right. I asked my friend for his critique and it goes as follows: "I was hoping that the tuna would be crispier". Fair enough. Taking into account both his and my critique, this sushi deserves a 4.4/5.0 sss. So far, Adriana's recommendations are 4/4 -- keep 'em coming, girl!
I failed to mention anything about the Korean BBQ above - it was mediocre and didn't warrant much comment. It made for a good filler but I can say with confidence that the sushi dominated in the palette-pleasing department.
