Red Tea Box

Made a trip to Harder's highly recommended 'Red Tea Box' on Queen West for some very special tea and fancy dessert before my class this afternoon. The setting of this cafe (if I can call it one) is summed up in one word, and one word only: enchanting. We walked in to be greeted by a wide selection of carefully crafted pastries and a calming aroma that I can't describe. The decor... well you have to see it for yourself; antiques, gypsies, and Alice in Wonderland come to mind when I think of the decor. We had Moroccan mint tea and I ordered a coconut ginger caramelized tart (4.5/5.0 sss) -- will decide later if this goes on the Sawnsawn Top Pastries list. I really like my pastries flaky so this is where it loses points. Other than that, the hint of ginger, the density and the caramelized top layer make for one fine dessert that can't be rushed when eaten (I like to savour good food, so I'll eat very slow when it comes to something I really like).
